Water- water is an important natural resource for the human body. Our body is about 50-70% water. This is a breakdown of the percentage of water that different parts of the body are composed of. The blood is 90% water, the brain is 85% water, the muscle is 72% water, the bone is 30% water and the fat in our body is 15% water. There are many benefits to drinking water chilled. When you drink water chilled to about 40ºF your body has to use energy to heat it to your core body temperature of 98.68ºF. It takes almost 1 calorie to warm each ounce of cold water to body temperature. When you drink an 8-ounce glass of water you will burn approximately 8 calories. When you drink a gallon of cold water during the day, it will enable your body to burn 123 calories, which is significant. “The real calorie burning power is in cold water”

These are 3 tips to remember about your daily water intake
- Consume 8 pints or 1 gallon of water daily.
- Sip the water with a straw; it will help you consume more.
- Try to consume more than 75% of your water intake before 7pm, so you eliminate the need to make frequent visits to the restroom.
